Weyauwega

Weyauwega is a town located in south central Waupaca County. Although politically independent from it, the city of Weyauwega is located mostly within the town. Commonly referred to as “Wega”, the town covers roughly 21 square miles, and is currently home to more than 600 residents.

Once the home of the Menominee tribe, Weyauwega was an area that was known for its wealth of resources, including timber, water, and fertile soil. Its waterways attracted numerous early settlers to the area even before a network of roads was established. Weyauwega was incorporated as a village in 1856, before it transitioned into a city in 1939.

Today, Weyauwega is a town blessed with an abundance of outdoor destinations, an outstanding educational system, and a variety of award-winning cheeses. The town also offers easy access to State Highway 10, placing residents minutes away from nearby destinations such as Stevens Point and the Fox River Valley area.
